Manitoba eHealth implements clinical systems that provide Manitoba’s healthcare providers with access to patient information in a secure and timely manner. In 2010, Manitoba eHealth was ready to begin implementation of its provincial electronic health record (EHR) system.
We were contracted to conduct public opinion research, develop a visual identity and manage a public awareness campaign to support the launch and rollout of the EHR province-wide.
Based on our research findings, we developed the name (eChart Manitoba), visual identity and positioning statement (Information is the best medicine), as well as a public campaign strategy to communicate a province-wide message about eChart and to drive people to the website.
Two key objectives of the project were to ensure positive public reception and a good news story for the launch of the EHR, and manage public expectations around the phased approach to implementation. eChart has been well received by the public as it has been implemented in phases across Manitoba.
