The Workers Compensation Board of Manitoba (WCB) provides no-fault injury and illness insurance to Manitoba workers and employers. The WCB provides a range of benefits and services, including wage loss benefits, extended healthcare coverage and return to work services for injured workers, as well as training and consultation for employers.
We have been the Agency of Record for the WCB since 2002. We developed and continue to enhance their external website (wcb.mb.ca) and intranet, as well as design and produce all the WCB’s printed and electronic materials, including its Annual Report, brochures and posters in multiple languages.
In 2014, we developed and implemented a marketing campaign for the WCB to promote workers compensation benefits and the injury reporting process to workers and employers. The creative concept illustrates the continuum of care provided by the WCB to injured workers: from wage loss benefits to recovery and return to work.
A survey of Manitobans after the campaign found that the number who would report an injury to the WCB had tripled from the previous year. Additionally, awareness of employers’ reporting responsibilities increased by more than a third, and youth awareness of the WCB as the organization that helps injured workers increased to 75 per cent from 56 per cent the previous year.
